The UK Innovation Corridor announces the relaunch of the Developer & Investor Forum

Ideas, commerce, and productivity are the bedrock of the UK Innovation Corridor’s growing economy. Partnering with key industry players is high on our agenda. We are thrilled to announce the relaunch of the Developer & Investor Forum.

The real estate industry plays a significant role in making the UK Innovation Corridor a ‘place’ for business and people.We are excited to work in collaboration with key stakeholders to further attract investment in the Corridor and facilitate conversation between local government and industry.

The Innovation Corridor is the UK’s leading sci-tech region, driving investment and growth from London to Cambridge in life sciences, med tech and other advanced technologies and ensuring economic success for the whole nation

A dynamic ecosystem of international businesses, academics, ambitious start-ups, City finance and law firms, the Corridor is unique in that it is ‘bookended’ by two globally renowned city regions, namely London and Cambridgeshire & Peterborough. The Innovation Corridor facilitates and works to harness the world-leading activity taking place across these city regions, especially in the fields of life, biomedical sciences, and med tech.

We particularly want to use the Developer & Investor Forum to help raise issues of productivity and explore this with our major developers in the Corridor – building on the recent work ‘Innovative Placemaking’ report prepared toward the end of 2021 and approved by the UK Innovation Corridor board this year.

The Forum exists to:

  • listen to and evaluate the Corridor’s inward investment activity and offer suggestions for improvement;
  • update the Corridor, its members, and the members of the Forum on the development market in the Corridor;
  • assist in developing thought leadership on specific topics such as securing investment, Green Belt, making the planning process work better;
  • focus on specific areas such as Harlow, the Upper Lee Valley, and Cambridge to both ensure that the Forum members are informed and aware, and to assist the Corridor and its members in raising the profile of the location; and
  • discuss issues relating to development and investment such as enabling infrastructure to assist members develop appropriate plans.

Stay tuned for further details on the relaunch in Autumn 2022.
