Corridor chair makes case in Property Week

Property Week has published it’s lasted Big Interview to UKIC Chair Jackie Sadek, catching up with her between investor meetings at MIPIM in Cannes.

Her verdict on the response to UKIC’s January 2025 investor prospectus was characteristically direct: “We’ve got more interest in the corridor than you can shake a stick at.” Momentum, she told the magazine, has only sharpened since launch.

The interview sets out the scale of the opportunity. The corridor’s economy is on course to grow from £189bn to £350bn by 2050, and could reach that milestone a decade sooner with £30bn of investment over fifteen years. Topped and tailed by the University of Cambridge and University College London, with strength across life sciences, advanced manufacturing and digital, it is a story the prospectus has helped sell to serious capital.

Our chair also singles out Stevenage as a standout example of what UKIC is scaling: evidence that innovation strength runs the full length of the corridor, not just at its bookends. That bottom-up, multi-valley story, a corridor where investment is spread across places rather than concentrated at one end, is central to how UKIC is positioning itself for the next phase of growth.
